Dating back to the 15th century, this house has retained many of its original features which make it a truly magical place to stay.
The house comprises two distinct areas - the main house and the adjoining Elizabethan tower. The house can be rented as a whole; however, both areas of the house are fully self-contained and can be rented separately if required.
The main house…
Comprises 3 double bedrooms; 1 with en suite and a family bathroom. There is a large main sitting room with a granite Inglenook fireplace, oak beams and many original features. Sky TV, including SKY sports is available.
There is a reception room/study which has broadband internet access and there is a downstairs cloakroom/bathroom and scullery, with laundry facilities.
The large farmhouse kitchen is well equipped, offering the full range of modern appliances, including a dishwasher, range cooker, fridge-freezer, microwave, TV etc.
The Tower…
The octagonal shaped en suite bedroom has a fine hand-carved four poster bed, tall mullion windows with a stunning view of the nearby Skirrid Mountain. The bathroom has a large double roll top slipper bath and spacious power shower.
The superb octagonal sitting room has great oak beams and an open log fire. The Tower also has its own fully equipped kitchen.
The entire house is centrally heated.
The house is set in extensive landscaped gardens with an orchard, gazebo, pergola and BBQ.
It’s situated in a village location with an excellent grocery store and is 150 metres from the oldest and reputedly most haunted Inn in Wales – The Skirrid Mountain Inn. There are also two golf courses within 5 miles.
It is 25 minutes drive from the Celtic Manor Resort. The main line railway station is just 5 minutes away, with a direct connection to Newport.
