Big Pit Museum Blaenavon

Big Pit was a real coal mine that has been regenerated into one of Britain's leading mining museums. 

Big Pit  offers an educational and entertaining day out for all ages.

As well as an informative museum showing what life was like for the coal miners, visitors can actually go underground and see the mine for themselves.. 

The tour begins with visitors being kitted out in miner’s lamps and helmets before descending 90m underground into the mine itself. 

This unique museum is certainly worth a visit and best of all is FREE.
